CrossOver Football is a football trivia game where you name a player whose career connects both clubs before your opponent. Club × Club is free on iOS: challenge a friend using a room code or practise against a bot with an internet connection.

How the shared-player game works
- Look at the two club clues. Think about players connected to both, rather than only their current squads.
- Type one valid name before the other player. There can be more than one accepted answer.
- Use the round result to learn a connection you missed, then move to the next pairing.
CrossOver Football brings this format to live 1v1 duels. You can challenge friends or practise against a bot. Club × Club is free on iOS; some other modes require the optional Social Pack. Read the full game rules before your first match.

Finding a connection without memorising every squad
Start with players who changed leagues, spent time on loan or returned to an earlier club. Separate “played for both clubs” from “transferred directly between them”: an intermediate club does not break the connection.
When you are unsure, use the shared-player finder. It looks up our selected club archive; it does not predict the next match or guarantee an answer is in the current game pool.
Is this football tic-tac-toe?
The idea of finding a shared footballer is similar, but the objective is different. In a duel you race to answer a pair. In football tic-tac-toe, each answer claims a cell and you need a line on the board. The guessing-format guide compares the alternatives.

CrossOver Football’s Club × Club mode asks you to name a footballer with career records at both selected clubs before your opponent.
- Where can I play, and is it free?
The iOS app and mobile Club × Club mode are free. Mobile Football Tic-Tac-Toe and the other Social Pack modes require an active paid Social Pack. Browser exercises on this site are free and are not the same experience as mobile matches. Android is not yet released.
- Can I play with friends or on my own?
In the mobile app, use a room code to challenge a friend or practise against a bot. Internet is required, including for bot matches. Quick Match may provide a bot when no suitable player is available.
- How are answers checked?
Answers are checked against career records, which can include loans or academy spells. A record alone does not establish a senior competitive appearance. The web archive and mobile game pool can differ.
